Our Cocobolo Rosewood wooden pens with black accents are handmade and designed by one of our local artisans. Cocobolo Rosewood is an exotic wood with elements of deep brown, maroon, and red. Cocobolo wood is native to Central America and is always in high demand, making it coveted by many. It is durable, and oily, which gives it a sleek, strong look when carved into a handmade wooden pen.
Our wooden pens are made in a 54-step process that ensures quality at every level. We begin by selecting a fine piece of Cocobolo wood. Then, we prepare the wood to be turned by measuring it, cutting it, drilling a hole and inserting a brass tube in the center. We then turn the pen on one of our wood lathes until we have created a nice shape. We complete the pen with multiple finishing steps involving sandpaper and micro mesh. We follow up with a polish before we assemble the pen with its black accents. All in all, its a 54-step process and takes quite a bit of time to complete from start to finish. It's a labor of love and we leave a bit of our heart and skill in every pen.
Lovoso is a social business which means 100% of our profits are donated to various causes. We partner with a local children's home where we have the opportunity to teach young men the art of wood turning while mentoring them and helping them to develop personal skills and character. When you purchase a handmade wooden pen made by Lovoso, you not only get a top-of-the-line, quality-made wooden pen, but you also use your money to fuel amazing social causes around the world.
The grain of wood varies from pen to pen so keep that in mind when ordering. You are guaranteed to get a pen with the exact wood you choose but the design will vary.
